  • Information about your responses to our advice services and other campaigns
  • Information relevant to surveys that we compile

When you give it to us indirectly:

Depending on your settings, or the privacy policies for social media and messaging services like Facebook, Google or Twitter, you might give us permission to access information from those accounts or services.

Pregnant Pickle will only collect, use and otherwise handle your personal information if we can rely on one or more of the following grounds:

  • To report to our funders – no names will be used.
  • For our campaigning work – no names will be used unless we seek your permission to publicise your case.
  • For our research work – again, no names will be used unless we seek your permission to publicise your case.
  • To improve your use of this website.
  • Process donations

7. How long will you keep my personal data?

We are legally required to hold some personal information to fulfil statutory obligations, for example, the collection of Gift Aid or to support certain financial transactions. These records are kept for as long as legally required.

When you subscribe to receive information from us, for example, via a newsletter, we will keep these records until you unsubscribe.

We will also hold information about your details so that we can respect your preferences for being contacted by us. These records are kept indefinitely.

We will not keep your personal data for any longer than is necessary in light of the reason(s) for which it was first collected

8. How or where do you store or transfer my personal data?

Information is stored by us on computers located in the UK. We may transfer the information to other third-party organisations as outlined in our policy. We may also store information in paper files that are held in secured locations.

We place great importance on the security of all personally identifiable information associated with our supporters, partners and beneficiaries, which is only accessed by authorised personnel.

Sometimes we may need to use a service provider and transfer and store your information that is outside the European Economic Area (EEA) – which may include a country that does not have the same level of data protection as the UK. In these circumstances, we take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and security of your information as set out in this Privacy Policy.

The security of your personal data is essential to us, and to protect your data, we take a number of important measures, including the following:

  • limiting access to your personal data to those employees, volunteers, agents, contractors, and other third parties with a legitimate need to know and ensuring that they are subject to duties of confidentiality;

9. Do you share my personal data?

Your personal information will not be forwarded to other organisations without your consent. We will not rent or sell your personal information to other organisations for use by them in any way, including in their own direct marketing activities.

In some limited circumstances, we may be legally required to share certain personal data,

which might include yours, if we are involved in legal proceedings or complying with legal obligations, a court order, or the instructions of a government authority.

From time to time to comply with our regulatory and legal obligations we may disclose and exchange information with regulatory bodies and law enforcement /statutory agencies.

Personal information provided through our advice services may in exceptional circumstances be disclosed by us to a third party if we have a safeguarding concern regarding a vulnerable adult or we have concerns that a young person is at risk of harm.

10. How can I access my personal data?

If you want to know what personal data we hold about you, you can ask us for details of that personal data and for a copy of it (where any such personal data is held). This is known as a subject access request (“SAR”).

All SARS should be made in writing and sent to the email or postal address shown in paragraph 11.To make it easier for us to respond to your request as quickly as possible, you may, but do not have to use the SAR Form a copy of which is available on request.

There is not normally any charge for a SAR. If your request is ‘manifestly unfounded or excessive’ for example, if you make repetitive requests a fee may be charged to cover our administrative costs in responding.

We will respond to your SAR within 28 days and, in any case, not more than one month of receiving it. Normally, we aim to provide a complete response, including a copy of your personal data within that time. In some cases, however, particularly if your request is more complex, more time may be required up to a maximum of three months from the date we receive your request. You will be kept fully informed of our progress.
